What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, check, or venmo for payment methods.

Is a meet and greet required if I am leaving too soon to set up a visit?

We do require an initial meet and greet prior to looking after your pet due to the fact that we fill out paperwork, get contact information, and discuss the procedures for taking care of your animal at these visits. We will not look after your animal unless we have an initial meet and greet due to the fact that we want your animal to have the same treatment as if you were home. *Please have two house keys available for the sitter unless you are planning on a different entry option.

What are the hours that you provide services?

Pet sitting, dog walking, and training visits are generally between 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. Other times can be arranged. Overnight visits are also available for animals that need care between 9:00 pm and 7:00 am.

What is your cancellation process?

For single visits, single days, single overnights, and dog walking services we have a 24 hour cancellation policy. For 2 or more consecutive day visits and/or overnight visits, as well as training sessions, we have a 48 hour cancellation policy. The only exception to this is weather based cancellations which vary depending on the situation.

*If a cancellation takes place in a shorter amount of time then the start time of the service mentioned above, a charge of 10% of the bill will be administered*

For holidays we have a 1 week cancellation policy.

*If a cancellation takes place less then a week before the start of the service, a charge of 20% of the bill will be administered.*

Do you offer services over holidays?

Please understand that we are a small business and family is very important to us. We will be open for most holidays. Those that we are not available for will be posted on the website or we will let you know upon request. Please note that holidays fill up fast so booking early will ensure that we can meet your request. Please check our holiday rates as they are different from our regular day rates.

What are the benefits of hiring a pet sitter instead of boarding my animals?

  • Your pet remains in the comfort of their own home

  • Your pet stays on their same diet and exercise routine

  • Your pet receives plenty of attention while you are away

  • Your pet doesn’t have to travel in a car or be in an unfamiliar environment

  • The pet sitter can give your home a “lived-in” look by picking up your newspaper, mail, putting out and bringing in trash cans, watering plants, etc.

Where do overnight pet sitters sleep?

The pet sitter can sleep wherever you prefer but it is recommended that they sleep wherever the animal is most accustomed to. This can be in your bed, a guest bedroom, or a couch. Some animals do not have a preference but for those that sleep with you in your bedroom it may be a little unnerving to not have someone to sleep with at night.

Some clients will wash the sheets before leaving, especially for longer trips. Then the sitter will wash the sheets before you return. Some sitters prefer to bring their own bedding. These are details you can work out with your sitter during the meet and greet.

What kind of animals will you care for?

We are willing to care for most animals as long as they will not cause harm to our staff. Our staff will not care for dangerous animals such as poisonous reptiles and other harmful pets.

Do you board animals?

We do not board animals in our own home but we will come to your home to your house and do an overnight visit.

Can you give my animals medications?

Yes we regularly administer medications. When we have the meet and greet we will discuss the process by which your pet is given medications.

What happens if I did not leave enough food for my pets?

We will contact you to let you know that that there is not enough food in the case that you have more food in another place in your home. If we do need to make a special trip to purchase food we will be glad to do so. There will be a $15 trip charge plus the cost of the food.

What can I expect at the meet and greet?

We take a look at everything we will be responsible for. The pet sitters will take note of the following information:

  • Collect 2 house keys and tag for entry (unless you have a different entry method such as a lock box or through the garage door)

  • Food & water dish location

  • Food and medication location

  • Meal prep instructions

  • Medical concerns instructions

  • Exercise notes

  • Where to put scooped litter / poop bags

  • Commands the animal knows

  • Plant watering instructions

  • Mailbox instructions

  • Going over your pet’s usual routine

  • Any other details concerning your visits

How do you handle keys?

Keys are collected at the meet and greet or are placed in a designated location (as discussed and agreed upon during the meet and greet) and all keys are tagged with a special code so the sitters can easily identify which key belongs to which household. Please have 2 copies of your key available for the meet and greet. If you would prefer not to use keys we can enter through the garage or use a lock box as well.

What happens if my pet becomes ill or injured while I am away?

At the meet and greet we will get and keep all of your vets information on file. In the case of an emergency we will take your animal to a veterinarian. We would contact you to inform you of a vet visit if this were to occur. 4 Paw Angels is not responsible for costs incurred from veterinary visits. Additional time spent transporting the pet and providing extra care is billed to you upon your return.

Will you provide updates on how my pet is doing while I am away?

A daily update is included in vacation sits, if desired. The update can be via email or text. In addition, the sitter is available to you by cell phone should you have any questions or concerns.

What if my property or pet is damaged while I am away?

Animals are unpredictable and the sitter cannot accept responsibility for related mishaps (bites, furniture damage, spills, pet stains, etc.). In addition, if your pet has access to the outdoors, 4 Paw Angels is NOT responsible for injury, disappearance or fines.

What happens if my pet gets out of the yard?

Please make sure that all pets wear identification tags at all times while under the pet sitter's care. You should also make certain that your backyard and gates are secured while you are away. The pet sitter will be sure to check gates upon arrival. If your pet happens to escape, the pet sitter will contact you immediately as well as alerting the necessary agency to alert them of your pet’s disappearance.
